Corporate Audit Senior Manager
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will report to the Executive Director of Corporate Audit. The Corporate Audit Senior Manager will assist the Chief Audit Executive, Executive Director/Director, and staff of Amgen Corporate Audit in providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services. The Audit Senior Manager will also help resolve whether the Company's systems of risk management, control and governance processes are adequate and functioning in a manner appropriate to a company of Amgen’s size and market.
The Senior Manager will help develop Quality Assurance and Improvement Programs that cover all aspects of internal audit activity and continuously monitors its effectiveness.
To recruit, manage and develop the audit team/direct or indirect reports towards the goal of developing the best team.
Effectively plans, coordinates, and conducts periodic audits of financial and healthcare compliance business processes in accordance with approved annual audit plans.
Complete Annual Audit Plan as approved by the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors
Provide leadership support to the Chief Audit Executive, Executive Director/Director Corporate Audit, guidance and coaching to Corporate Audit staff in the execution of the Audit Plan and to achieve audit goals and objectives
Assist the Chief Audit Executive, Executive Director/Director and staff of Corporate Audit in providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to contribute and improve the operations of the Company
Support audit management in the preparation and development of presentations and reports to executive management and the Board of Directors
Complete financial and healthcare compliance audits
Successfully manages and cultivates key relationships to ensure that Corporate Audit's scope of work and the objectives of the organization are completed in a cost-effective and timely manner
Drafts work papers documenting work performed and written communications of audit and consulting engagement results
Participate in determining whether Corporate Audit’s process, document management systems, control and governance processes are adequate and functioning in a manner appropriate to a Company of our size and market
Interact with Amgen senior and mid-level management
Exercise sound judgment and initiative in handling business issues of significance to Corporate Audit and the Company.
Assist on special projects as needed.
Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Provides project management responsibility for leading the direction and accomplishments of overall goals and objectives of audits
Discharges responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with The Institute of Internal Auditors’ Code of Ethics, International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Statement of Responsibilities.
Travel up to 15% per year

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of audit, accounting, finance, or compliance experience OR
Master’s degree and 8 to 10 years of audit, accounting, finance, or compliance experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 10 to 14 years of audit, accounting, finance, or compliance experience OR
Diploma and 14 to 18 years of audit, accounting, finance, or compliance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry experience
Knowledge and understanding of internal control framework, financial and healthcare compliance risks and controls
Strong analytical skills; ability to be decisive, build teams, and provide leadership
Excellent discernment (e.g., knowledge of business drivers, finding solutions, and knowledge of accounting, finance, and other business areas)
Good-to-Have Skills:
Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, as well as AuditBoard, Tableau, Alteryx, Smartsheets
Big 4 and Fortune 500 internal audit experience
Initiative-taker with excellent project management skills
Professional Certifications:
Relevant auditing or compliance professional certifications are highly preferred: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant, Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
Soft Skills:
Analytical, interpersonal, team building, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written), including the ability to interact with Amgen senior management effectively and confidentially.
Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
