Role: Associate Commodity Manager Juniper’s Supply Chain is a world class team with more than 400 members located globally. Role & Responsibilities Be responsible for Mechanical sourcing / supplier management including support for Thermal commodity as needed and drive supplier excellence on quality, cost, agility and time-to-market Understand Juniper’s needs , collaborate in the industry and drive strategic partnerships to enable aligned investments. Align suppliers and Juniper technology roadmaps through understanding of market trends, Juniper future requirements, and suppliers’ technology value proposition. Contribute to GCM-Sourcing/Strategy role to identify technology and business issues amongst Juniper development groups, product marketing managers and the industry for mechanical / thermal commodities as needed Collaborate with the Juniper Mechanical experts to support global sourcing strategy creation and execution. Define supplier selection criteria, work with team on selecting supply base and develop targeted preferred supplier list, AVL mgmt. Negotiate and execute NDA, Master Purchase Agreements, SoW and/or Joint Development Agreements Scorecard suppliers and lead business reviews with Juniper and Supplier Executives Participate executive negotiation to achieve cost reductions and Identify sourcing opportunities and negotiate world class pricing and terms. Responsible for sustaining Drive RFIs and RFPs, and award process for Thermal solutions. Drive productivity gains through collaboration with suppliers. Define cost drivers, develop cost models, and establish should cost. Drive value engineering activities with a cross functional team. Understand current market pricing and dynamics of competitive landscape. Support the development from suppliers to enable innovative products/solutions to align with Juniper roadmap. Mitigate the risks in corporate strategy, supplier financials, corporate compliance, and operations. Possess understanding of Thermal commodity industry indicators and market intelligence Education & Experience Minimum BS (Thermal, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering) with combined 8-10 years of Engineering and Manufacturing Experience. Preferred MS in Engineering and/or MBA with 10+ years of Thermal Global Commodity Management, Manufacturing or Management experience in a telecom/networking. Direct Experience in Mechanical commodities like Sheetmetal, Machining , Casting, Extrusion would be necessary & experience in Heatsink, Fan, TIMs etc would be added advantage Sourcing & supplier management in mechanical commodity or thermal commodity experience in similar industry with knowledge of thermal management Possesses strong knowledge of network system thermal solution, the overall mechanicals components – Knowledge of heatsinks & other thermal would be an added advantage Demonstrated strong leadership and influencing skills. Demonstrated experience and exposure with CEM, ODM and JDM Mfg. model. Demonstrated ability to drive and close cross-functional project initiatives.
