Cloud Security Engineer

Experience: Minimum 8 years

Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cloud security and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves executing cloud security assessments, providing consultancy support, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Software Requirements:

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and at least one additional cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Alibaba Cloud).
• Proficiency in software development tools and technologies, including Python, Bash, PowerShell, SQL, and data formats like XML, JSON, and CSV.
• Understanding of risk and control frameworks related to cybersecurity.

Overall Responsibilities:

• Execute technical Cloud Security Assessment reviews raised and tracked through Service Now.
• Provide consultancy support to customers, facilitating a smooth transition of services into production.
• Drive ongoing process improvements in collaboration with the team, focusing on capability uplift and automation.
• Apply relevant cloud security controls effectively.
• Meet performance targets set by the Cloud Security Assessment Lead.
• Contribute to HSBC’s Cybersecurity strategy, enhancing the bank's security posture.
• Ensure effective engagement with Global Businesses, Functions, and Regions.
• Promote and lead the adoption of industry trends and best practices.

Category-wise Technical Skills:

• Cloud Platforms:Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud.
• Programming Languages:Python, Bash, PowerShell, SQL.
• Data Formats:XML, JSON, CSV.
• DevOps Tools:Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, Nexus.
• Cybersecurity Frameworks:Risk and control frameworks, Cybersecurity assessment methodologies.

Experience:

• Proven hands-on experience in cloud security engineering.
• Experience in conducting cybersecurity assessments/reviews is a plus.
• Familiarity with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) and CI/CD frameworks is desirable.

Day-to-Day Activities:

• Conduct cloud security assessments and documentation.
• Collaborate with application teams and IT departments to enhance security measures.
• Analyze and report on security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and improve processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, advocating for necessary changes.
• Engage with stakeholders to communicate complex security concepts clearly and effectively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CRISC, CISM, or Cloud Security Certifications) are a plus.
