Job Description
The Data Centers Cloud Administrator is responsible for the design and production of core infrastructure systems for the private and public cloud. As a member of Data Centers’ Cloud Services team, The Cloud Administrator is responsible for executing many unique projects within a technical team. They are responsible for reliability, integrity, availability, and growth through the support of the Expeditors Cloud environments. You will engage business analysts, system architects, other systems administrators, software developers, DBAs, and quality assurance resources to deliver a robust Cloud-based environment that supports our business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot cloud issues using Azure tools
- Implement security best practices, identity management, and network security
- Automate deployments and configurations using PowerShell and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
- Manage cloud resources and optimize costs
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
- Collaborate with development teams to support DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Provide technical support and resolve cloud-related issues
- Maintain documentation of cloud configurations and procedures
- Stay current with new Azure services and best practices
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Azure services (GCP/AWS knowledge is a plus)
- Experience with on-premises virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Stack)
- PowerShell scripting expertise
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux OS in cloud environments
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with attention to detail
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Azure Entra ID, Azure File Sync, and Active Directory integration
- Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform/bicep, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and automated deployments
- Hands-on experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other monitoring/alerting tools
- Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies and best practices
- Understanding of networking (VNETs, VPNs, ExpressRoute) and cloud security models (NSGs, firewalls)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong grasp of disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup strategies in Azure
- Experience working in an Agile development or DevOps environment; familiarity with Scaled Agile (SAFe) a plus
- Understanding of API management, App Insights, app services and serverless architecture in Azure
