Your Role and Responsibilities As a Performance Specialist, working on CICS, you will be developing and executing high volume workloads, analyzing results and identifying code changes to ensure CICS does not degrade from release to release. You will also be working directly with customers to assist them with getting the best performance from their applications and assisting these customers with their application performance issues.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in developing applications on the z/OS platform
Z/OS systems programming skills on products such as CICS, RACF, Db2, MQ, IMS.
Experience of analysing system bottlenecks and proposing solutions
Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies
Strong debugging skills to enable you to identify and resolve performance issues.
Experience of developing and maintaining performance testing frameworks
Strong communication skills to provide performance optimization advice and guidance to the development team and IBM customers
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Java and/or scripting language programming skills
Cobol and/or Assembler skills
Experience in CICS performance tuning
A good understanding of CICS applications and architectures within the z/OS environment
