Change Management Process Head

Northern Trust is seeking a Change Management Head to manage the Change Management Process Team, driving operational excellence within the organization to enable efficient throughput of production changes in compliance with the IT controls.   

Responsibilities:

• This self-starter must have strong organization skills, ability to communicate and think critically.
• Generates enthusiasm and enable a “risk minded” organization
• Possesses a strong understanding of exception evaluation and risk mitigation strategies
• Manages with a strong bias towards “operational excellence” ensuring processes are lean but effective
• Implements and enforce SLAs to ensure effective governance of change requests through the Change Management lifecycle.

• Produces month-end summaries of all changes processed to implementation.
• Partners with Change Management Product Owner on tooling automation (requirements, testing, adoption) to support Change Management Operations.
• Develops / updates standards, processes, procedures and training material as required.
• Identifies and drives continuous improvement initiatives across Change Management Operations.
• Partners with Risk & Control and other LODs (as required) to evidence control monitoring, and other risk and audit related requirements.
• Oversees change audits to ensure audits completed successfully and issues are communicated.
• Brings experience in a large financial services firm or highly regulated industry.
• Project management expertise including working knowledge and application of Agile methodologies a plus.
• Experience leading application development initiatives a plus.
• Familiarity working with PPM Tools such as Clarity and other tools including Service Now, Azure DevOps, etc.

Qualifications

• Min. 20 years of experience in the IT industry
• Min. 6 years’ experience in Change/Release Management space
• Min. 8 years’ experience in Development/ Engineering
• ITIL v4 certified
• Experience working with Engineering teams and homegrown technology stacks and ITGCs
• Experience with our common SaaS applications (ServiceNow)
• Experience with internally developed proprietary applications
• Familiarity with ITSM Controls and audits preferred
• Cybersecurity familiarity is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree required
