Certification may be one of the best kept secrets in Engineering. Perceived as purely regulatory by some, this discipline in fact provides a complete overview of the aircraft development process, from the initial project application to the continued airworthiness of the in-service fleet.
As Fuel Certification Engineer, you will join the Flight, Propulsion and Operational Certification Department (IIAAV). This dynamic team, composed of Certification Engineers, Certification Managers and Experts, currently based in India, Filton and Toulouse, forms part of the Certification Technical Directorate (CTD).
This team provides technical expertise in the field of flight, human factors, propulsion, fuel systems, icing, operations and continued airworthiness. It contributes to Type Certification (TC), change to TC, operational approval, rulemaking and customer support activities.
Job scope (Tasks & accountabilities):
Within this department, the jobholder will join the Fuel Systems Certification Team, which covers the following technical fields:
The Jobholder exercises the legal privileges granted by EASA under Part 21 Subpart-J and act as Designated Airworthiness Engineer (DAE), ensuring that the minor and major changes to Type Certificate are delivered on time and on quality, and their approval received on time.
In addition to leading mods, jobholder will be in charge of defining and negotiating the applicable certification basis, approving the mod classification, ensuring that the compliance demonstration is complete from an airworthiness perspective and performing the final airworthiness review.
The jobholder guarantees the Airworthiness of the design changes defined by Airbus, reporting airworthiness issue to a Chief Airworthiness Engineer.
