ESSENTIAL DUTIES
FUNCTIONAL TESTER:
- Works with Product Owners and BAs to understand requirements (functional and non-functional)
- Creates and maintains test plan/suite of test cases (including expected and actual results), using QA test methodologies and standards.
- Executes test cases; defines the steps to reproduce the issue; categorizes the defect by severity; works with the product team to determine root-cause; verifies the fix.
- Automates test cases to achieve higher efficiency without sacrificing quality.
- Creates test cases and plans for integration and user acceptance testing.
- Automates test cases to achieve higher efficiency without sacrificing quality.
- Summarizes test results for the Product Owner (QA reporting)
- Participates and champions all agile/scrum ceremonies (or adherence to Kanban principles)
- Monitors sprint burndown charts to know when to ramp up/down the team to drive quality and velocity over time

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree (preference given to Business or Technology or Accounting major).
- Quality Assurance certification from an accredited program.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 3-6 years’ experience tester on web-based products (including UI, DB, and APIs).
- Understanding of Quality Assurance processes for software application testing.
- Knowledge of designated testing tool suite such as Quality Center / Azure DevOps / Jira.
- Knowledge in SQL queries.
- Experience in working with REST APIs, understanding of Soap APIs.
- Experience in API Testing and its automation tools like Postman.
- Understanding of Swagger API Platform.
- Understanding of HTML/CSS/JS or JQuery.
- Knowledge of bug life cycle, SDLC, Agile/Scrum/Kanban.
- Experience with version control systems GIT, VSTS / Azure DevOps.
