Business Analyst

Position Overview


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong data background to join our team in the banking sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing business needs, translating them into technical requirements, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to enhance business processes through data-driven insights.


Overall Responsibilities


  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, objectives, and expectations.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze existing data systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, use cases, user stories, and process flow diagrams.
  • Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics tools (SQL, Hadoop, Excel, Tableau, Power BI) to extract, analyze, and visualize data to support decision-making.
  • Gap Analysis: Conduct gap analysis and propose viable solutions to bridge identified gaps and enhance operational efficiency.
  • IT Coordination: Collaborate with IT teams to ensure system enhancements and data integrations align with defined business requirements.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key insights and making recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Testing Support: Support testing efforts, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure that system functionality aligns with business needs.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the banking sector.

Qualifications


  • Education:


    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:


    • Minimum of 7 to 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
  • Technical Skills:


    • Strong experience with data analytics tools such as SQL, Hadoop, Excel, Tableau, and Power BI.
    • Proficiency in data modeling and database management concepts.
    • Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards (e.g., AML, KYC).
  • Soft Skills:


    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications (Optional):


    • Relevant certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA are a plus.

Preferred Skills


  • Methodologies: Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).
  • Financial Knowledge: Knowledge of financial products and services, including loans, investments, and accounts.
  • Programming Languages: Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for advanced data analysis.

Day-to-day Activities


  • Engage with stakeholders to clarify requirements and facilitate discussions on project objectives.
  • Analyze data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
  • Prepare detailed presentations and reports for management discussions and decision-making.
