Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Division is currently seeking a Bucket Platform Engineer for its Bodies & Buckets Product Value Stream. In this role you will provide technical leadership, project/program prioritization, quality improvement, and requirements for buckets on large wheel loader (LWL) and hard rock vehicle (HRV) buckets in product / process design. You will work closely with engineering design teams, value chain teams, and product value streams to gather and provide requirements to ensure appropriateness of design to achieve requirements. You will also manage the portfolio of buckets across the LWL and HRV products to ensure alignment with product value stream and customer needs.  You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, mentor and coach engineers on new technologies for buckets and deepen your professional knowledge and network.


Responsibilities


  • Develop project scope/requirements to address business challenges and opportunities.
  • Coordinating resources across sales and marketing, product development groups, value chain and manufacturing.
  • Overseeing project progress, costs & quality; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.
  • Provide technical guidance to value chain and design teams
  • Prioritize projects and direct project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.
  • Management of product portfolio for related product value streams
  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
