Job Description
Overview :
The Business Development Manager– Building Finishing systems (BFS) and Sealing and Bonding (S&B) will be responsible for managing the product portfolio of Tile Adhesives and Tile Grouts, Sealants and Bonding adhesives including business strategy, lifecycle management, market positioning, and sales enablement, key account/initiative steering with sales for India. This role requires close collaboration with sales, R&D, marketing, and supply chain teams to drive market share growth and profitability.
1. Product Strategy & Management
- Develop and implement product strategies for BFS & S&B based on market needs, competition, and company objectives.
- Manage the product lifecycle from development to end-of-life, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.
- Define and optimize the product mix, pricing, and packaging to align with market demands and business goals.
2. Market Research & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
- Analyze competitor products, pricing, and positioning to define competitive advantage.
- Gather feedback from customers, dealers, and applicators to drive product improvements.
3. Sales & Business Development Support
- Provide technical and commercial support to the sales team to enhance product penetration.
- Develop sales tools, presentations, and training materials for internal teams and channel partners.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and target key segments such as contractors, OEMs, applicators developers & architects.
4. Product Development & Innovation
- Work closely with R&D to develop new products and improve existing ones based on market requirements.
- Evaluate raw materials, production processes, and performance benchmarks for product enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Marketing & Brand Positioning
- Develop go-to-market strategies, product promotions, and marketing campaigns in coordination with the marketing team.
- Support digital marketing initiatives and content creation for social media, website, and technical literature.
- Participate in trade shows, industry events, and exhibitions to promote Sika BFS & S&B solutions.
6. Supply Chain & Operations Coordination
- Work closely with supply chain and production teams to ensure product availability, inventory management, and cost optimization.
- Forecast demand and plan product rollouts efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Chemistry, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 8 to 10 years of experience in technical sales, or marketing in the construction chemicals industry, preferably in Tile Adhesives & Grouts.
- Strong understanding of tile fixing solutions, application techniques, and industry standards.
- Know how
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and lead projects independently.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, data analysis tools, and CRM software.
