Description: The Backup Administrator will be responsible for the administration of our Backup platforms being part of a global team
The Backup Administrator supports and maintains various backup systems
ensuring infrastructure health and data integrity.
Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of this position include, not limited to,:
Regularly maintain and make sure backups and replications are running as needed
Investigate Missed/Failed backups and other issues
Create/Update Backup policies.
Monitor Miss/Fail of Backup Application scheduled Backups
Understand costs for backups and Monitor costs associated with backups and restores
Ensure enterprise scalability and performance for backup environments through proactive performance control and configuration adjustment;
Implement security policies and procedures for storing and safeguarding data;
Install, maintain and upgrade backup hardware and software;
Maintain documentation of configuration, operation and troubleshooting procedures, and service records for backup hardware and software;
Ensure troubleshooting in the event of errors and backup problems, and to resolve and analyze the root causes;
Communicate with hardware and software representatives, as well as other internal teams, to diagnose and resolve errors with root causes;
Participate in the assessment of new requirements, design and technical standards;
Respond to user requests and incidents and service requests
Manage DR (Disaster Recovery) Steady State/Checks
Supporting 24/7 on a global system - ability to support in shifts
Meet other related tasks.
Relevant experience:
3 years or more in administration of data backup in an enterprise company.
Has experiences with at least 2 backup softwares
Good knowledge with Linux and Windows server operating systems
Time Management

Cloud Certificate - advantage
Knowledge:
Experience with cloud backups and concepts
Familiarity with SAN and NAS
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, Email and networking
knowledge of DB backups (Oracle,SQL,etc…)
Good knowledge in Virtualization (VMware and other Hypervisor hosts)
Fluently spoken & written English
Knowledge and understanding of data protection technologies, deduplication, data replication, encryption, and the interdependencies between backup clients and the backup environment, including the network, storage.
3 years or more in administration of data backup in a large company.
Expert in cloud backups and storage concepts
Expert in Backup Application and Hardware (Appliance, Master\media servers)
Good knowledge with Linux and Windows server operating systems
Time Management
Familiarity with SAN and NAS
