Overall Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with expertise in API portal development, specifically adhering to CBA standards. This role encompasses the design and development of Microservices-based applications, the creation of APIs based on BIAN specifications, and the refactoring and rearchitecting of legacy APIs to enhance their cloud-native capabilities. The successful candidate will also integrate legacy APIs with systems of record and contribute positively to design decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Microservices (RESTful APIs, Reactive and Batch) based applications.
- Develop APIs aligned with BIAN (Banking Industry Architecture Network) specifications.
- Migrate legacy APIs to AWS Cloud, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Refactor and rearchitect legacy APIs to enhance cloud-native characteristics using .NET and Java.
- Integrate legacy APIs with systems of record including SAP, HCL, Combizz, CommC, and mainframes.
- Follow coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Participate in key initiatives to improve the engineering team's capabilities, standards, and risk profiles.
Experience: 6 to 8 years of experience in API portal development with adherence to CBA standards.
Technical Skills (Category-wise):
Development Skills:
- Expertise in .NET development, C#, .NET Core.
- Proficiency in REST APIs and Microservices architecture.
- Experience with MVC framework and OAuth2.
Cloud Technologies:
- Mandatory experience with AWS, including serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Kong API Gateway, IAM Roles & Policies, Elastic Beanstalk, Fargate, VPC, Subnets, Route Tables, Load Balancer, EC2, EKS, etc.).
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
CI/CD Tools: Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, TeamCity, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Design Patterns & Best Practices:
- Strong understanding of design patterns and best practices in software programming.
- Performance tuning for building high-throughput and resilient applications.
Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and AWS CloudWatch.
Methodologies:
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile methodology.
- Knowledge of the banking and payments domain is a strong advantage.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design specifications.
- Build, test, and deploy APIs and Microservices in line with project timelines.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Engage in troubleshooting and performance optimization of existing applications.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to backend development and cloud services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in backend development, specifically with .NET and AWS.
