Job Description

Purpose of the role


To maintain the smooth and efficient operation of our trading desks, providing operational support and expertise to traders, sales professionals, and other key stakeholders, helping them maximize their productivity and minimize disruptions and handling administrative tasks, and providing market information and research. 


Accountabilities


  • Provision of immediate and efficient technical support to traders and sales professionals on the trading desks, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues to ensure uninterrupted trading activities.
  • Coordination of trade execution by liaising with traders, clients, and other internal teams to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Maintenance and updating of trade records, transaction logs, and client databases accurately.
  • Reports, presentations, and documentation preparation to support sales and trading activities.
  • Monitoring of market data and assist in the analysis of financial information for trading decisions.
  • Operational tasks such as processing trades, confirming orders, and resolving trade discrepancies.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.

About Liquid Financing


The role holder needs to make sure they act as an extension of the desk and help the desk with daily reporting, analytics around P&L generation, book management by resolving loss making trades or any other P&L slippages with complete ownership. The role holder would also have to create tactical analytical tools to help the desk make informed decisions on a daily basis and support their daily/monthly processes.


Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:


  • Engineering Graduate in Computer Science /IT, MBA in Finance.


  • Required Hands on experience / knowledge on Database languages like SQL with an expert understanding of databases, programming languages such as Python, VBA macro; BI tools like Qlikview, Tableau, Spotfire or Power BI


  • Basic knowledge on Fixed Income concepts and familiarity across Stock Loan, Securities Lending, Prime Brokerage and Triparty (Finance) in general


  • Ability to lead the team and drive new analytical projects and understand existing analytical reports/models built in Qlikview/SQL/Python and working closely with FO Trading desk to enhance them based on business requirements.


  • Ability to train, upskill and empower the team to enhance team’s capability and engagement to be able to attract additional / more complex projects from the regional stakeholders.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate complicated issues to management and other impacted areas and ensure timely resolution of issues and breaches.


  • Well-organised with good time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise tasks.


  • Able to work effectively as part of a large team and multi-task and prioritise accordingly in a highly pressurised environment.


  • Willing to take on responsibility and Confident in dealing with groups outside of immediate team (Sales, Trading, Product Control, Credit, Legal, Ops).


This role is based in Mumbai.
