Based in CBSi reporting to the Deployment Automation Product Owner, the role will be responsible for facilitating software releases for several business systems within the Digital Flip Australian Digital Insurance business. The successful candidate will work alongside software engineers, testers and Chubb business stakeholders to ensure the software release schedule is adhered to.
The role requires a thorough knowledge in ITIL methodologies, specifically Release Management. Being a conduit for the business, the role is a central point to the business stakeholders for content on the release schedule as well as facilitation of necessary communications.
The scope of the role includes but is not limited to
- Ownership of the overall release calendar and all planning associated with co-ordinating a release including management of stakeholders
- Accountability for co-ordinating releases and management of stakeholders including management of issues in case issues are encountered during a release
- Management of compliance and risk due to releases including owning the change approval process
- Acquiring priorities from business stakeholders and product teams within the Australian Digital Flip
- Maintaining a release artefact repository for IT compliance
- Facilitation and acquiring release communications for internal / external needs
The role collates all necessary compliance requirements for software deployments in accordance to best practice. Internal and external compliance governance and audit facilitation are an important aspect of the role. Collation of Release Artifices in-line with the release schedule are required on a continued basis. Release Facilitation is required for each release planned for the production pipeline.
The release manager plans, and facilitates all production deployments ensuring backups, software installation, co-ordination of post verification testing (PVT) and suitable emergency procedures are in place and conducted.
Business stakeholder planning and communications are communicated on a regular basis in accordance to the release schedule which includes prioritisation of business features.
At times the role is required to be available for emergency releases from P1 and M2 Major Incidents requiring an emergency break-fix which could require deployment after hours or on weekends.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

- Facilitate software releases from ticket prioritisation to production
- Establish a production coordination schedule, release artifaces, communications plan for each release scheduled for production.
- Work with business stakholders to obtain ticket priotisation for each scheduled release and liase with the nessesary technical leads for development activities.
- Maintain the release repository of all release artifactes for compliance and audit
- Work with engineers within the Digital Flip, business stakeholders and users to establish best practice principles
- Assist and support in achieving departmental goals and objectives
- Ensure compliance of all security measures in application support and development processes
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Essential:
- University degree or equivalent experience in the field of Insurance, Business Systems, Information Technology or equivalent
- Production Support ITIL experience
- Experience working with JIRA, Confluence and ServiceNow
- Experience in Release Management within a production support ITIL team
- Demonstrates strong customer service and technology comprehension

Desirable:
- Ideally has exposure and knowledge to insurance business systems and channels typically used via Sunrise Exchange, Steadfast SCTP, AON EMBS and Web Portals.
- Policy Administration insurance platform experience (e.g. Duck Creek)
