Role Description
- The applicant will act as an IT Application Owner for applications in the CIB Domain.
- The IT Application Owner (ITAO) is accountable for the Application Management of portfolio of applications. The ITAO has to ensure that the application(s) are enhanced and maintained in accordance to the Bank’s IT Security Risk and Compliance requirements. The Technology Roadmap within DB and the Business plans.
- The ITAO should work with relevant stakeholders of the application and ensure that candidate effectively identifies and manages risks, issues, compliance gaps in line with DB IT risk and compliance policies and also the road map of the business stakeholders.
- Service levels need to be evolved and met based on business needs.
- The ITAO need to proactively escalate with relevant stake holders to ensure that there is no slippage in meeting IT Risk, compliance and audit goals for the application, portfolio of applications.
- This role expects the person to have some experience in Project Management.
- The ITAO is also expected to take part in the Annual budget planning exercise with respect to their application along with relevant stakeholders if necessary.

Your key responsibilities
- As a senior team member in the Application Management and L3-Support-Team, you will be a primary delivery agent in this area and will give guidance to junior and external staffing
- You will perform support activities, including capacity management, problem analysis and resolution in our ETL environments
- Make headways in setting-up and maintaining file transfer tools within our area of responsibility including mainframe, midrange, and cloud environments as well as of system connectivity and system onboarding requirements for new integration projects
- Perform activities related to onboarding of new ETL projects, including the set-up of new project folders and database schemes
- Work closely with the development team, application management and service operations, forming a virtual Dev-Ops team to support an environment of continuous improvement and pro-active error avoidance in the overall platform
- Proactively suggest optimization potential in our processes and organization, and move these forward independently upon mutual agreement
The Application Owner is in charge of a broad set of duties. On one hand an ITAO has a management responsibility for a set of application within the portfolio. On the other hand the ITAO is requested to provide detailed administrative information in self assessments to comply with the IT Policies & Standards.
The following are typically some of the tasks for which an ITAO is responsible for :
- Lead Risk and compliance process for the set of application that candidate is the IT owner.
- Facilitate Disaster Recovery activities by reviewing DR plans and coordinating the execution of DR exercise for the application.
- Manage Internal and external application audits and Audit issue remediation activities.
- Manage remediation of gaps in application lifecycle management activities such as Account recertification, remediation of Application configuration gaps etc
- Manage application related Risk and Compliance Evaluation tasks and resolution of gaps in this area.
- Manage any IT Security incidents that may occur in the application.
- Plan and Manage Application events and Database Events monitoring using Bank wide standard monitoring tools.
- Manage application capacity forecasting and monitoring.
- Plan and manage Application user access related tasks.
- Plan for Application Hardware / Software / License upgrades or migration activities to align to the compliant platforms
Your Skills And Experience
- The IT Application Owner ( ITAO) has extensive IT risk management skills. They understand the different service delivery approaches and the interference with the IT application’s life cycle and identify opportunities to incorporate these approaches into best practice.
- The ITAO is aware of the gap in the current infrastructure solutions and where industry innovations are along the maturity lifecycle. They determine the appropriate balance between compliance requirements and pace of delivery.
- The ITAO has a deep understanding of development methodologies and IT policies and procedures, with a focus on IT management and information security. They may work closely with Engineers to ensure holistic robust processes to improve safety and security of the application, compliance with regulations, policies, and standards, enhance operational readiness and ease maintenance of the environment for delivering change into production.
- The ITAO assists the bank’s audit function in the remediation of audit points and self-identified issues in order to reduce risk. They are responsible for application documentation and knowledge management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and infrastructure to drive continuous improvement and resolve issues.
- Strategic Planning: Work with the Product Owner and team to develop and execute a strategic roadmap for the application, aligning with business goals, and technology trends.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to the applications performance, security and compliance.
- Change Management: Oversee application upgrades, patches and enhancements ensuring minimal disruption to the business.
