Role description:
- Accountable for management of all projects or programs within the business area
- Accountable for delivering scope of work in line with budgetary, compliance, regulatory and planning controls, and with deep technical knowledge and broad business experience
- Responsible for implementing policies and procedures in line with GEC country specific policies.
- Responsible for delivering team metrics in conjunction with Discipline Director
- Key interface with Discipline Director and Service Delivery Manager for performance of team, development of capabilities and progress on standardization and automation.
Role accountabilities:
- Provide professional leadership in their BA team at a management level, establishing and consolidating relationships with senior staff in BA offices, taking ownership for the delivery of the GEC’s technical capability, supporting the delivery of tasks or specialized components of projects.
- Plan and drive the development of Arcadis’ capability and capacity in the BA team, aligned with Discipline wide plans to meet project demands. Work with Talent Acquisition and Learning Development to ensure BA team needs are understood and plans to meet them are in place.
- Drive a culture of project delivery excellence within the BA team, ensuring that adequate talent is available and assigned to lead on project delivery from a technical and task management perspective.
- Ensure the delivery of projects/tasks within the team is in accordance with Management Systems to meet time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets. ·
- Engage with the senior leadership in the BA they collaborate with and champion the involvement and inclusion of GEC capability in their delivery model using SOPs to standardize the delivery approach.
- Drive the implementation of the GEC and Discipline strategy within the BA team, including managing changes associated with the operating model. · Communicate change and manage transformation within the team, aligned to the strategic direction of the company, GECs and Discipline.
- Develop and implement workforce plans regarding building capability and capacity of the teams over the medium to long term in consultation with the
- Discipline Director, BA stakeholders, Workforce Planners and Service Delivery Managers.
- Ensure that direct and indirect hour targets are achieved, working in close collaboration with the Discipline Director and Workforce Planner.
- Work with Discipline Director and Service Delivery Managers to define and implement standardization and automation initiatives within the team. · Ensure a strong focus on career development, driving a culture of best practice around GPS and empowerment of staff to own the development of their careers.
- Foster a strong culture of health and safety awareness and practices within the teams, setting a leadership example and holding senior staff to account.
- Manage staff engagement levels by drawing insights from tools such as YourVoice, identifying engagement drivers and developing and implementing action plans to ensure a well engaged team.
- Manage team shape and size within the discipline to ensure that adequate levels of seniority for leadership, task management and technical roles are in place to support current and future delivery requirements.
- Collaborate with other BA Managers and GBA Manager within Disciplines to ensure that capabilities are maximized across teams and projects. Drive the development of training and
Qualifications & Experience:
- The candidate should have a bachelor's or master’s degree in Engineering and experience in leading and growing a significant business function within a multinational engineering or professional services firm.
- They should have a proven project management background aligned with rail or highway-related projects in mid-size or major schemes in the UK/Europe/Australia, along with experience in consultancy. ·
- Preference will be given to candidates with PMP/ APM or equivalent certification and those with knowledge and proven experience working with the NEC form of contract.
