Role description:
As a leader in Arcadis, you play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of the Global Excellence Centers (GECs) across various dimensions—focus and performance, people and culture, innovation, and growth. You will oversee multiple teams (40-100 staff) supporting multiple countries or service lines. Your influence is recognized across the organization, and you are instrumental in shaping the future of the GECs
Role accountabilities:
Technical Leadership & Expertise:
- Lead the technical delivery of complex rail power projects, ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management, and seamless communication between Arcadis colleagues.
- Provide expert guidance in Rail Power systems, with substantial experience in design for complex projects across various countries.
- Offer solutions for complex issues or unusual situations, drawing on your deep knowledge of Rail Power systems, including E&P, MEP.
- Ensure your team is proficient in the latest design and modeling software, staying updated with industry advancements.
Collaboration & Integration:
- Collaborate closely with Rail Power (E&P, MEP) discipline leaders in different countries to ensure a consistent approach across all Business Areas (BAs).
- Integrate Rail Power and other Rail Systems colleagues from GECs into project planning and delivery processes.
- Work alongside other discipline leads and peers to deliver integrated projects that meet the highest quality standards.
Project Management & Delivery:
- Lead and manage projects from feasibility through detailed design to construction design, demonstrating a strong commercial focus.
- Participate in tender teams, advising on resource planning and delivery strategies, and supporting high-quality, winning pursuits.
- Ensure technical reviews are conducted for all projects under your teams, taking responsibility for the financial and quality performance at a discipline level.
People Development & Leadership:
- Evaluate the technical competence of staff, identifying specific training and mentoring needs.
- Manage and develop team members, ensuring alignment with Arcadis' business goals and fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Promote continual improvement in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) performance across the business, leading by example.
- Provide unbiased input for salary decisions and ensure the development and performance management of your team.
Efficiency & Innovation:
- Drive efficiency through standardization and automation of key service offerings.
- Lead innovation by fostering a digitally-savvy, entrepreneurial mindset, incorporating human-centric, experimentation-led approaches to drive transformation.
- Actively participate in bid support and review estimates produced by the pursuit team.

- Collaborate with Rail Power and Rail Systems colleagues across GECs to ensure alignment in project planning and delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or master’s in electrical engineering.
- Chartered Status through a recognized institution (e.g., IEE, IET) is preferred.
- Proven leadership experience, inspiring geographically dispersed teams around common processes, systems, and tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in E&P with strong links to professional bodies.
- Strong project and people management skills, with hands-on experience in technical project work.
- Experience delivering projects in 3D BIM environments, using common data environments like ProjectWise.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships at the highest level.
