Role Overview
As a Software Engineer you will design, develop, and maintain software systems. This role involves both creative and analytical skills to solve complex problems and create efficient, reliable software. You will use your expertise in requirements analysis, programming languages, software development methodologies, and tools to build and deliver software products that meet the needs of businesses, organizations, or end-users. You will work with other engineers, product managers and delivery leads, to design systems, determine functional and non-functional needs and implement solutions accordingly. You should be ready to work independently as well as in a team. Expected to work on PaaS (Platform as a Service) solutions like Tanzu Platform, Oracle APEX, Azure ASE, Kubernetes and cloud native solutions.
What will you do in this role
Create and document detailed designs for custom software applications or components.
Design, code, verify, test, document, amend and refactor moderately complex software configurations and platforms in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams across various regions worldwide.
Contributes to architecture, design, best practices, compliance and engineering of global PaaS and CaaS solutions. Contributes to identifying capability gaps and designing solutions.
Executes on opportunities to automate and simplify maintenance and lifecycle of platform services
Promptly investigate and respond to incidents triggered by monitoring alerts. Analyze the root cause, collaborate with relevant teams to mitigate the impact, and ensure timely resolution. Document incidents, remediation steps, and lessons learned to improve system reliability and prevent recurrence.
Maintains current industry knowledge of cloud and application hosting PaaS (Platform as a Service) concepts, best practices, and technologies
Participate in requirement, design and specification reviews. Design test cases and test scripts under own direction, mapping back to pre-determined criteria, recording and reporting test outcomes. Perform manual and automation testing.
Prioritizes workloads, commitments, and scheduled timelines.
Document, review, and ensure that all System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and company policy standards are met.
Participate in sprint planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with established OKRs.
What should you have
Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any Technology stream.
1+ years of hands-on experience working with technologies - HTML, CSS, REST API, HTTP, SQL databases and platforms. At least one programming language from our supported stack (NodeJS, Java, Python)
Experience in Linux System Administration.
Basic understanding of Oracle database architecture and a mindset to learn more.
Experience with database code, including SQL queries, procedures, and functions.
Experience in DevSecOps tools stack. Experience with software solution design and documentation.
Familiarity with modern product development practices – Agile, Scrum, test driven development, design thinking. Product and customer-centric approach.
Cloud-native, ideally AWS certified.
Experience with container platforms and PaaS solutions(e.g. Kubernetes, AWS ECS, EKS, Azure AKS, Cloud Foundry, Tanzu Application Service, Azure ASE, Oracle APEX) and cloud-native technologies (e.g. helm, cilium/calico/flannel, karpenter, etc.)
Automation and CI/CD: Understanding of automation principles and experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, including knowledge of tools like GitHub Actions, Terraform and Ansible to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
Containerization Technologies: Understanding and practical experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, including familiarity with container deployment, management, and troubleshooting.
