Associate Lead Software Engineer - Java

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our Content technology team in Bangalore region. This is an amazing opportunity to work on Singularity Web of Science (WoS) projects using Java/J2EE tech stack. The team consists of 10+ people and is reporting to the Development Manager. We have a great skill set in J2EE and AWS related technologies and we would love to speak with you if you have skills in J2EE and AWS.

Experience, education, skills, and accomplishments:

• Minimum 8 years of industry experience with strong knowledge of backend technologies (Java, Spring framework)
• Solid technical and analytical skills. Proven ability to analyze and understand complex business processes.
• Motivated independent self-starter. Needs minimal supervision.
• Displays knowledge and passion for technology.
• Understands business urgency and drives the team to hit delivery targets.

Must haves:

• Spring framework, Spring boot, Microservices, Spring data
• REST API, JSON, XML
• Database – Oracle, Postgres. Write native SQL queries.

It would be great if you also had experience:

• Using AWS services (ECS, SQS, S3, RDS)
• Understanding of Spring batch module
• Familiar with NoSQL databases

What will you be doing in this role? 

• Analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of applications using key skills in a cross-functional team, project-based environment.
• Ensure that all tasks undertaken are completed with quality.
• Maintain and optimize existing programs and to develop additional functionality to existing systems.
• Work with business users to identify, analyse and define business problems and opportunities.
• To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager/director on a permanent or temporary basis.

Product you will be developing:

The role will involve development and enhancement of the Singularity API for WoS Journal selection.

About the Team 

The team is comprised of colleagues from multiple locations including India, UK, US and Spain.

Hours of Work  

45hrs/week, Its a permanent FTE position. working hours11 AM to 8 PM IST
