Role summary: Ares is currently searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented team player to join as an Associate in the European Credit Group specializing in Product Management and Investor Relations. This position will be responsible for all aspects of supporting relationship management activities with a focus on reporting and analysis preparation on all aspect of the group’s activities. This position will be part of a team working closely with investment professionals from the European Credit group to provide investor relations support including but not limited to; written communications with existing and potential investors, market and competitor research and analysis, and investor presentation support. In this capacity, significant responsibilities include on-going relationships with finance, accounting compliance and business development. The position requires strong organizational, interpersonal, quantitative and analytical skills and must be able to meet deadline requirements.
Primary responsibilities:
The Associate will work in the European Credit group and support Product Specialists in providing information and expertise on firm strategies and funds to clients. The Associate will assist in building client materials and various prospects/marketing materials, updating market and fund specific data within existing materials on a monthly, quarterly or ad hoc basis. The Associate will also be responsible for tailoring materials to reflect market environment to meet needs of various users.
Interface and develop strong working relationships with all internal subject matter experts of the Firm (portfolio management, business development, operations, legal, compliance and human resources)
Build and “own” client materials and various prospect/marketing materials, updating market and fund specific data within existing materials on a quarterly or ad-hoc basis
Produce quarterly portfolio reports and letters for investors, working with Finance and Portfolio Management teams to collate relevant data
Drive process for creating responses to investor questionnaires, due diligence, and ad-hoc requests for existing and potential clients
Maintain quantitative and qualitative key metrics on competitors
Help to identify areas of risk and pro‐actively propose innovative business solutions required to increase the efficiency of information flow and communication channels between different areas of the business
Take on ad-hoc projects and support all other teammates with their work as needed
Create and edit marketing investor materials for co‐investment and funds
Education: CA / MBA / CFA
Experience Required: 5 - 7 years of experience working on a investor relations or product specialist role OR alternatively someone with a background in credit looking to make a move into a marketing focused role in direct lending.

Experience at a regional, national, or global financial services firm
Self-starter, exceptional communication and organizational skills necessary
Ability to work independently as well as with “the team”
Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer literacy
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook
