ABOUT THE ROLE


You will be the Service Lead – the person that is accountable for the success of our data automation & orchestration technology stacks in AstraZenecaWe need someone that can lead, shape and build the service so that it is scalable and sustainable and most importantly loved by AZ Data Engineers, whilst also being an inspiring engineering leader who can develop their global team, manage and influence multiple stakeholders  - all whilst having laser focus on delivery and maximising return of value.


What you’ll do



  • You will be accountable for developing and delivering the roadmapfor the Data Ops Platform services, ensuringwe have the right security, rigour,integrations and automation to work efficiently, safelyand at speed


  • Leading and working with yourteam  - you will need to define an efffective and agile working practices to ensure that the service evolves to meet user needs whilst ensuring key service metrics, net promoter scores and KPIs are defined, governed, maintained and improved progressively


  • You will ensure we have structure, prioritised backlogs, capacity planning of the team so that dependencies are identified and delivery is predictable


  • You will be accountable for the cost of run of your service and defining measures to highlight the business value return of the work your team accomplish


  • You will establish strong working relationships with the data teams, third parties and partners to develop and oversee and aligned strategy of onboarding and migration to the platform


  • As an engineering leader you will advocate and advance modern, agile  development practices and help develop and evangelise great engineering culture


  • You’llbuild and develop a high performing team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development




HIGHLIGHT THE SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES NEEDED




We consider individuals in this role to be our top tierEngineers; thismeansyouneed to be capable of working in multiple spaces and are likely to be the most experienced and skilled engineer on the team. You will raise expectations within the whole team, solve complex technical problems and work alongside complementary delivery platforms.



Youshouldapplyif



  • You have proven ability to work with automation and orchestration technologies such as Jenkins, Airflow or similar 


  • You are able to show where you have successfully worked with an enterprise mindset and having implemented good governance practices, standards and industry best practices 


  • You have demonstrable experience of working with multiple internal stakeholders to deliver complex roadmaps


  • You have a strong experience in building partnerships with technical vendors


  • Strong history as a lead data engineer; managed global technical teams with strong Team Leadership skills


  • You have experience working in a global organization with multi-partners, stakeholders and team members are spread out in a diverse culture environment


  • You have good exposure to Cloud environments


  • You understand and can lead technical roadmaps for operational monitoring, usability and governance


  • You have good awareness and experience working with GxP and SOX compliant platforms and services; and understand key concepts behind data security & protection,access based policies, back up and disaster recovery .
