Role: Associate Director -Legal To support PayU’s growth plans in India for payments and fintech opportunities, PayU is looking for a legal counsel with a strong background of general corporate/ M&A, capital markets, or financing related legal work together with a strong focus on data privacy laws and regulations (including, preferably GDPR). The role will be responsible for handling a variety of work involving legal, privacy and regulatory aspects of the payments and fintech business. This role will also be responsible for advising on matters surrounding data protection/privacy aspects and supporting all aspects of the organization’s data protection framework across different business verticals (including the organization's payments and credit business).
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized Indian institute. Any additional qualifications or certifications relating to privacy will be a plus.
Experience Required
7 to 9 years’ professional experience with a reputed law firm and/or reputable corporate entity or financial institution. Initial background of working with a law firm on M&A, general corporate, capital markets, technology, privacy or financing legal work will be a definite plus.

The ability to provide time-sensitive support on a variety of legal and regulatory issues in connection with all aspects of PayU's operations in India with the ability to conduct research and form views across different legislations and regulations governing various sectors in India.
Experience in developing and implementing processes for efficient and streamlined operations surrounding contract negotiations and processes.
Drafting and reviewing data processing agreements, updating policies and processes, and assisting in overall implementation of the organizations data privacy framework.
Establish template standard documents for frequently used documentation.
Liaising with international consultants/ advisors to advise the organization on global data protection laws and its requirements.
Assist the organization by keeping abreast of new legislation and regulatory developments that may impact the business.
Strong drafting and communication (both written and oral) skills in English.
