The Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the heart of American Express. Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving American Express Cardmembers and Merchants, and our Issuing & Acquiring partners in more than 170 markets worldwide. How will you make an impact in this role?


As an Associate – Digital Product Operations, within Certification Operations, you will be responsible for onboarding new customers to transact on the American Express Merchant and Partner Networks, as well as deploying new products with existing one. This includes supporting these customers during their set up, connectivity and certification phases. You will have the opportunity to work with an array of external customers (e.g., acquirers, issuers, card terminal providers, merchants, processors, aggregators, etc.), and internal peers and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities


  • Onboarding, and certifying external customers on Self Certification program so that they can exchange data with network participants as per American Express specifications.
  • Support and provide consultancy to our external customers about our certification processes and tools.
  • Develop and manage relationships with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure a proactive understanding of the demand pipeline.
  • Use knowledge of Amex's payment products, platforms & standards and advise internal/external customers on certification process 
  • Build relationships and act as the liaison between our external Business Partners and various American Express technology groups, supporting the installation of network connectivity and implementation of authorization and submission solutions
  • Support the upgrade of our tools, processes, and documentation whenever changes are required by regulatory changes, new products, and technical developments in the industry.
  • Participate in calls/testing that can be held outside of usual hours to support regional and global projects that span different time zones.

Experience


  • Overall work experience of 5- 8 years of work experience
  • Possess good functional knowledge of Network Specs, Proprietary Specs, Network Certification, Test tools and platforms, EMV, Contactless, POS products etc.
  • Payment industry and transaction processing knowledge & Project Management experience

Academic Background


Graduate/Post Graduate degree (B-Tech/Engineering will be preferred)


Functional Skills/Capabilities


  • Must be able to communicate effectively with external business partners and various internal cross functional teams at both – technical and business level
  • Strong relationship management skills to influence without authority, both internally and externally, across multiple international territories with different cultural considerations.
  • Intellectual Curiosity and tenacity to push for customer solutions with internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to support multiple high-profile projects simultaneously in a fast-paced multi-time zoned environment
  • Self-motivated, with growth mindset, and results driven oriented. Must have the ability to work without supervision in a matrix organization, demonstrating strong teamwork.
  • Understanding of technical specifications and use that knowledge to validate test results; can independently identify root causes that can arise during certification, and resolve them
  • Knowledge of telecommunication and networking components such as TCP/IP & SFTP, Router capabilities, VPN, and Web Services are an added advantage.
