Job Description
Main Duties:
The primary responsibilities of the role include
- Lead other Hotel employees to ensure compliance with corporate Safety & Security standards.
- Ability to direct the performance of the Safety & Security staff and follow up with corrections and/or discipline where needed.
- Is responsible for the discipline of their Supervisors, Head Guards and Guards, assisting in scheduling, Supervisor and guard reviews, and communiqués.
- Takes a lead role in emergencies.
- When present at the scene of any medical emergency, acts as a first responder, and assesses and renders appropriate first aid and/or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, rescue breathing, Heimlich Maneuver, or other life-saving technique, and if necessary and prudent, requests the dispatch of additional Emergency Services personnel, such as paramedics.
- Is responsible for overseeing the activities of the department, primarily delegating to the Supervisor / Shift Leader and Guards but able to deal with any situation when required.
- Is responsible for planning and carrying out the plan for security at special events or for V.I.P.s.
- Is responsible for investigation of all incidents in the absence of more senior departmental leaders and alerting the Chief / Assistant Chief of Safety & Security to all incidents.
Administration
- Complete and maintain full records of all activities on shift- Daily Log, Daily Roster, Overtime report, overnight checklists, incident reports and any other documents as required by the Chief of Safety & Security.
Customer Service
- To handle and resolve all guest queries and complaints in an efficient manner and to establish an amicable relationship with all clients, customers and guests of the Hotel.
Financial
- To ensure that the Department’s operational budget is strictly adhered to, that all costs are controlled and expenditures are properly approved.
- To ensure that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations related to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
- To prevent losses and ensure that departmental expenditure is always under control.
Operational
- Communicates investigation results in correct format.
- Is able to brief senior Hotel leaders on any assigned special tasks, projects or surveys conducted.
- Is able to form and maintain productive relationships with outside parties- Police, Fire Brigade, BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation and Foreign country Embassies.
Personnel
- Perform ad hoc on-the-job individual and team trainings as needed to ensure that all team members have the required knowledge to comply with the relevant corporate standards.
- Takes a lead role in conducting the Safety & Security training program in support of the Hotel’s commitment to energizing the ‘Esprit Accor’.
- Takes a mentoring role to Supervisors, Officers and Guards who need additional support to improve their performance.
- Have a good relationship with all colleagues.
- Be understanding, supportive, encouraging and helpful to all.
Other Duties
- Perform all tasks as detailed in daily task list.
- Participate in related project teams.

Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in Security or Loss Prevention required
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role is a strong asset
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Advanced Security Training designation is a strong asset
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnights
- Self-starter, decisive, responsible, and driven to achieve goals
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, problem-solving, diplomacy, and exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to encourage innovative solutions when appropriate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required
- Additional security-related training and education is a strong asset
- Proficient knowledge of security operating systems and inspection protocols
