Job Title: Assistant Cost Manager (Civil & Interiors), PDS

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced candidate who has extensive knowledge of C&I item rates, proficiency in cost estimation for Design & Build and General Contracting projects, and AutoCAD/Cost X skills for quantity take-offs. They should collaborate effectively, provide accurate and timely estimates, and possess strong communication skills. Experience in corporate interior projects, value engineering, and BOQ formulation is essential.


 Key Responsibilities:


  • Accurately assess and estimate project costs for Design & Build and General Contracting projects based on drawings, requirements, and BOQs
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs using AutoCAD/COST X for corporate interior projects
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather project requirements and ensure cost estimates align with desired outcomes
  • Provide timely and accurate cost estimates, adhering to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain comprehensive executed project cost data at various levels for cost benchmarking purposes
  • Conduct value engineering, cost variation analysis, and rate analysis as per project requirements
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and labor costs to ensure accurate estimations
  • Formulate and standardize BOQs & Cost Formats for various project types
  • Align cost estimation practices with company policies and procedures

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering
  • 4-5 years of proven demonstrated experience in corporate interior projects, with a strong focus on Design & Build and General Contracting projects
  • Extensive knowledge of C&I item rates, packages, and related specifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimations
  • Experience with Cost X tool is highly advantageous

Skills and Competencies:


  • Strong analytical skills for accurate cost estimations and analysis
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities to effectively convey cost estimates to project stakeholders
  • High attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive and adaptable approach to project requirements and changes
  • Intermediate design knowledge and sense, enhancing understanding of project needs
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools beyond AutoCAD and Cost X
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction materials, methods, and current market rates
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong team collaboration skills and ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders
  • Capability to perform value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
  • Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and regulations relevant to interior fit-out projects
