The Asset Servicing Group Manager is accountable for leading complex functions supporting Corporate Action, Security Reference Data and Asset Pricing activities within Citi Funds Services. Requires a comprehensive understanding of Market Data and its usage from a Fund Accounting and/or market perspective. Applies in-depth understanding of the above to support technology and control transformation initiatives. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
Responsibilities:
- This role will be responsible for leading teams responsible for Corporate Actions (validating, accounting and reporting) and security reference data (validating, capturing and reporting)
- The role also involves monitoring and ensuring delivery of related services from internal Citi partners within a separate management chain.
- Manages multiple teams or a functional area
- Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes recommendations for pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions
- Manages regional alignment with global best practices, develops organizational strategies, and builds credibility and trust with regional partners and management.
- Supports multiple high-priority strategic projects, appropriately leverages and allocates necessary resources to ensure successful delivery of same
- Supports a wide range of internal clients across the broader global Citi network (product, operations, client delivery, and technology) and external corporate clients
- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within the overall function to achieve objectives;
- Develops, analyzes and validates key data points and performance measures to proactively manage risk and identify opportunities for increase productivity
- Executes on all other duties as assigned
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience
- Senior to advanced level experience in a related role with commensurate experience in people management
- Significant exposure to Market Data (Corporate Actions, Pricing and Reference Data)
- Broad understanding of opportunities that exist within Funds Services and/or Securities Services
- Demonstrated success dealing with Clients and Senior Management
- Experience fostering a transparent control environment with strong focus on proactive risk management
- Ability to exhibit strong and influential communication skills with a senior level audience (internally/externally)
- Experience in hiring and developing internal and external talent
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or similar professional qualification
