S&P global is looking to hire Non-tech young fresh graduates/postgraduates, only 2023 & 2024 Pass-outs for Apprenticeship for a duration for 11 months. This Program will enable the candidates to learn on the job from S&P Global’s experts which in turn will equip the candidates to become more skilled in today’s job market.


The Role: Apprentice - Sustainable1 Commercial Strategic Initiatives

The Commercial Department of Sustainable1 works with all S&P Global divisions by coordinating relationship strategy for our largest clients, developing market campaigns and supporting the delivery of our solutions to the market.


Responsibilities & Impact:


  • Support the Sustainable1 Commercial Leadership Team in the development, delivery and monitoring of Cross-Divisional and Segment-Led strategic initiatives.
  • There are named members of the commercial leadership team responsible for various parts of the Cross-Divisional and Segment Led strategic initiatives. Your responsibility will be to support them as a project manager throughout the process of defining collaboration initiatives, setting and monitoring mutually agreed KPIs, and robust regular reporting to executives.
  • For each of the 5 S&P Global divisions (Market Intelligence, Index, Ratings, Commodity Insights, Mobility) there is a member of the S1 Commercial Leadership Team responsible for ensuring cross-divisional success. You will be supporting each of them to arrange the regular meetings with divisional counterparts, take notes and summarise the agreed initiatives and KPIs. You will also be responsible for collating from various internal sources the progress against the agreed KPIs and preparing the reports on progress to senior executives.
  • Similarly, for our Segment-Led strategy, you will be particularly focused on supporting the Bank Segment Lead, who is responsible for setting our commercial strategy for banks, taking into account the needs of the 5 divisions. You will be responsible for project managing this initiative, including setting up internal meetings with regional bank specialists within Sustainable1, and summarizing the regional perspectives, which will contribute to our strategic plan. Our commercial segment strategy works closely with our product segment strategy so you will also be responsible for supporting that liaison.
  • For our largest clients, the Strategic Accounts, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial lead for this in tracking the progress against key objectives, including the development of client plans, expanding our coverage of key personas, the growth of revenue and opportunities across divisions.

What We’re Looking For:


  • Highly motivated self-starter with good analytical skills, initiative and an ability to work independently.
  • Work experience or studies related to the banking industry highly desirable.
  • Experience, knowledge or interest in sustainability would be advantageous, including a baseline understanding of key themes, regulatory drivers and trends.
  • Excellent organization skills, structured approach to planning, note taking and summarizing information.
  • Strong MS Office skills as there will be a large reliance on processing and presenting information on Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Appetite to learn from a wide variety of sustainability experts, which would also entail the flexibility to work across timezones globally.
  • Ability to condense high volumes of data into digestible formats in an articulate way.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Non-tech fresh graduates/postgraduates i.e MBA (Marketing/Analytics) /BBA / B.Com / M.Com /  B.Sc eco. / M.Sc Eco  (Year of passing 2023 and 2024 only)
  • Knowledge of banking industry, departments and key personas.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Willing to work in Hybrid work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well versed with Web Research and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to think creatively, identify and resolve problems.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere.
  • Ability to interact with many levels and to face and deal with issues in a mature and professional manner.
  • Good analytical and logical reasoning skills with Positive attitude towards work
  • Comfortable taking initiative and demonstrating resourcefulness.
  • Prior work experience in the field of ESG research, corporate sustainability or sustainability investing is an added advantage.
