Position Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Application Support Specialist to provide technical support for the APAC One Delta business. The ideal candidate will proactively manage production services, support pre-live services, scale systems sustainably, and practice sustainable incident response. This role demands strong technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Technical Support:


  • Provide technical support for the APAC One Delta business.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely manner to ensure smooth operation.

Proactive Management:


  • Measure and monitor availability, latency, and overall system health.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and performance.

Pre-Live Support:


  • Participate in system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks.
  • Conduct capacity planning and launch reviews to ensure readiness of services before they go live.

System Scaling and Evolution:


  • Scale systems sustainably through automation and other mechanisms.
  • Push for changes that improve system reliability and velocity.

Incident Response:


  • Practice sustainable incident response and conduct blameless postmortems.
  • Develop and maintain incident response protocols to minimize downtime and impact.

System Improvement (Nice-to-Have):


  • Identify and build improvements to system behavior, control, and monitoring tools.

Software Requirements:


  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking.

Technical Skills:


  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application and system issues.
  • Experience in system design consulting and capacity planning.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining software platforms and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of sustainable system scaling and automation practices.
  • Expertise in incident response and postmortem analysis.

Experience:


  • 5+ years of proven experience in application support and technical troubleshooting.
  • Experience in proactive management of production services.
  • Involvement in system design, capacity planning, and pre-live support.
  • Background in scaling systems sustainably and implementing automation.

Day-to-Day Activities:


  • Provide technical support for APAC One Delta business applications.
  • Monitor system health, availability, and latency.
  • Conduct system design consultations and launch reviews.
  • Implement automation solutions for system scaling.
  • Respond to incidents and conduct postmortem analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvement and implement changes.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong technical background with experience in application support.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality support.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for working within a team environment.
