Job Summary:


If you have some background in Inside Sales management and Project quotations, Emerson has an exciting role for you! The Application Engineer will provide consultative technical support & application assistance to our Local Business Partners, Sales Teams and customers throughout Australia and New Zealand to increase technical sales competence.  They will ensure technical and commercial responses are accurate and meet customer deadlines.  They will deliver coaching and training to collaborators to bring them up to the required technical competence levels required.  
 


In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:


  • Provide product selection and quotation support in the first instance for Natural Gas (NG) and Industrial (IND) products.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key collaborators and influence the growth-oriented accounts.
  • Provide support to internal teams developing and maintaining internal processes / reporting requirements to ensure the company meets and exceeds customer’s contractual requirements in regard to response times and delivery performance.
  • Proactively promote products and service solutions by using marketing programs, using field resources, and providing distributor / end-user product trainings.
  • Manage and build on internal sales team’s relationships and Local Business Partners, bringing in Product Sales Specialists where required to assist in project sales.
  • Understand customer needs to uncover additional opportunities within accounts across all products and service solutions.
  • Develop strong customer relationships at all levels through superior customer service
  • Provide price and delivery confirmation (ATP) for supply and/or delivery lead times(IND & NG SBU)
  • Support Margin and profitability management through diligent and strategic pricing 
  • Provide support to the Company Delegation of Authority (DOA) policy and assist in management of IND SBU profitability 
  • First escalation product support 
  • To assess in the first instance who/where or how should the technical enquiry should be managed, and divert to AP PSQ teams as required (IND & NG SBU)
  • Supervise the product selection process or as the case may be manage the flow of information to the correct technical person 
  • Interact with the relevant sales and operations functions to ensure 100% quote accuracy to meet customers’ expectations

You have good attention to details and can review customer datasheet and provide optimal solutions that benefit both parties. You are able to work with diverse groups and get the required data to meet sales requirements. You have a passion for learning about different products and also value winning projects through collaboration. You quickly and significantly act in constantly evolving, unexpected situations. You actively seek guidance from relevant sources to learn and upskill yourself


For This Role, You Will Need:


  • Degree in Mechanical,Instrumentation or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant technical experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, water, water treatment, power/or related process industries

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:


  • Knowledge of pressure relief valves or regulators 
  • Prior experience in Inside Sales or product pricing will be an advantage
  • Strong communication skills in English – both written and verbal
