JOB PROFILE: Application Development Lead
Job Summary:
The Application Development Lead (ADL) is responsible for overseeing delivery of high-profile software development initiatives under the defined jurisdiction. Responsibilities may include managing large projects or small project portfolios, leading architecture and design initiatives, and leading quality management processes aimed at ensuring incidents and other customer-impacting issues are handled efficiently and thoroughly.
When assigned to a large program, the ADL works directly with the program’s PMO team to deliver on program-specific goals while keeping development teams on track per Agile guidelines (including traditional Agile Scrum Master duties). The ADL also ensures technical continuity between the program and other areas of the business unit. This includes Salesforce teams, corporate technology support teams, and vendor resources that contribute to business-critical projects and significant technical initiatives.
Examples of the types of initiatives that might be led by the ADL include major technology migration or transformation, application and infrastructure security initiatives, and application performance governance including system availability and the management of incidents and problems. Given the diverse set of technical disciplines that the ADL may manage, the ideal candidate must have an equally diverse background including robust experience with application development as well as some exposure to other topics such as operations, infrastructure and DevOps.
