The L2 Engineer is responsible for ensuring that estate is fully patched with both Microsoft and 3rd party vendor updates and all vulnerabilities are remediated to maintain the security posture.
This take place in the servers’ planned maintenance window and all failures must be troubleshooted and rescheduled. Ensuring device coverage is 100% so constant monitoring of our estate and comparing our coverage with other systems is essential.
Responsibilities will also include Managing and maintaining the MECM/SCCM estate to ensure all clients and servers are in a healthy state and content is up to date, MECM/SCCM software upgrades and proactively looking at ways to automate and improve the environment.

Patch the Servers/Workstations with both Microsoft and third-party updates and remediate Vulnerabilities.
Follow streamlined processes to achieve 100% compliance and heavily promoting and implementing automated efficiencies.
Monitor all troubleshooting and problem resolution on all aspects of MECM/SCCM and ensure that this is completed within SLA.
Ensuring that complex and dynamic collections, advertisements, queries, reports are required and meet business objectives.
All issues raised with MECM/SCCM client health are resolved in a timely manner.
Monitoring of deployments in MECM/SCCM are on schedule and will be completed on time such as:
- Creating and deploying applications.
- Monitoring updates.
- Reporting and remediation of the success or failure of Applications.
- Resolving all issues with deployments.
MECM/SCCM Proactive monitoring and troubleshooting to fix any issues such as:
- Application updates and distribution.
- Troubleshoot client issues.
- Client, Application and OS upgrades.
- Regular patching of OS Wim’s for all task sequence
- Improving build efficiency
Rapid remediation of any issues raised by Security Teams.
Proactively looking at ways to bring Vulnerabilities down and applying fixes recommended by tools available.
Management of Compliance Settings.
Manage clients using Group Policy.
Experience managing and troubleshooting both Server and Desktop Windows OS’s (both modern and legacy).
Manage and report on hardware and software inventory.
Create, modify, and produce custom reporting/dashboards as needed.
Experience with Active Directory.
Microsoft Failover Clustering.
Create/maintain detailed technical and procedural documentation.

ESSENTIAL

Technical Skills:
- Proven practical expertise on all aspects of MECM/SCCM including but not limited to Patching, OSD, Application packaging.
- Expertise with common server technologies such as Windows Servers, Active Directory and GPOs.
- Knowledge on SQL Reporting Queries.
