The Finance Data Science & Analytics (FDS&A) team leverages data and new technology to innovate around the way we forecast key measures to add stability and predictability to the AXP P&L. FDS&A team’s goal is to help the organization make fact-based and scientifically developed decisions around risk and opportunities. You will perform a key role in providing financial analysis and decision support for AXP Issuing Spend business.


We are looking for a high-performing, energetic colleague with a positive attitude and ability to think critically, organize flawlessly and facilitate activities in a fast-paced, dynamic, and fun environment. The ideal candidate will be flexible, able to exercise discretion and independent judgement while also having the confidence and professionalism to interact with colleagues across levels to get the job done.


Responsibilities include:


·        Leverage quantitative skills to provide decision support to business teams on key initiatives


·        Assist in developing/enhancing Spend metric predictive modeling that incorporates card member behaviors and increased level of data granularity


·        Planning activities responsibilities including Risks & Opportunities (R&O), Long-Range Plan (LRP) and Annual Plan as it relates to AXP Billed Business


·        Use machine learning techniques to improve forecasts and produce business insights; leverage visualization and reporting tools


·        Understand and adopt emerging technology that can affect the application of the quantitative analytical approaches and technique to solve business problems


·        Provide thought leadership into key findings and actionable recommendations to influence business strategy


·        Deepen trust-based relationships with a variety of stakeholders and levels across the Enterprise, including, but not limited to EFP&A, BU FP&A, LFO teams and business partners


·        Leverage quantitative skills to provide decision support to business teams on Enterprise-wide forecasting for Billed Business, including, but not limited to, model ownership and results analyses


·        Propose and implement solutions to ad-hoc business problems independently, leveraging data and insights to play the role of strategic advisors


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in a quantitative field
  • Proficiency in SQL, Hive, Python, Pyspark, Machine Learning Techniques
  • Highly motivated individual with desire to work on ambiguous projects; with the abi
