Agile Delivery Manager

About the Role:



As an Agile Delivery Manager, you will build and maintain teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating, and working well. You will identify obstacles and help the team to overcome them, focus the team on what is most important to the delivery of products and services, encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team, and coach and mentor team members to apply the most appropriate Agile and Lean tools and techniques.



Responsibilities:



As an Agile Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for the performance of the team. Your responsibilities will include:



  • Building and maintaining teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating, and working well.



  • Identifying obstacles and helping the team to overcome them.



  • Focusing the team on what is most important to the delivery of products and services.



  • Encouraging and facilitating continuous improvement of the delivery team.



  • Coaching and mentoring team members to apply the most appropriate Agile and Lean tools and techniques.



Requirements:



Agile and Lean Practices



  • Identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use.



  • Encourage a mindset of experimentation and adaptability.



  • Use a blended approach depending on the context.



  • Measure and evaluate outcomes and help teams to manage and visualize them.



Commercial Management



  • Act as the point of contact for contracted suppliers.



  • Understand appropriate internal contacts and processes.



  • Recognize when third parties should be involved in projects.



Communicating between Technical and Non-Technical Stakeholders



  • Listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them.



  • Effectively manage stakeholder expectations.



  • Facilitate active and reactive communication.



  • Support or host discussions within the team or with diverse senior stakeholders.



Life Cycle Perspective



  • Recognize when to transition from one stage of a product life cycle to another.



  • Ensure the team is working towards the appropriate service standards.



  • Manage the delivery of products and services at different phases.



Maintaining Delivery Momentum



  • Facilitate the delivery flow of a team, managing the pace and tempo.



  • Address internal and external risks, issues, and dependencies.



Process Management



  • Identify and challenge organizational processes that are needlessly complicated.



  • Guide teams through the implementation of new processes.



Planning



  • Prioritize the most important or high-value tasks.



  • Use data to inform planning and manage dependencies.



  • Remove blockers or impediments affecting plans.



  • Ensure teams plan appropriately for their capacity.



Team Dynamics and Collaboration



  • Bring people together to form a motivated team.



  • Create the right environment for a team to work in and empower them to deliver.



  • Recognize and address issues within the team.



  • Help create the best team makeup depending on the situation.
