Job Title
Systems Engineer, Advisor I
The primary purpose of the Systems Engineer is to provide senior-level CICS/TS technical support (installation, implementation, administration, and maintenance) for all Fiserv IBM mainframe-based CICS/TS solutions supporting Fiserv’s Issuing, Acquiring, and Payments clients globally. This support includes working and supporting internal and external clients using IBM’s CICS/TS solutions and work with other mainframe-based technical teams in a high availability and global environment.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the installation, implementation, performance, testing and integrity of a large IBM CICS/TS implementation
• Work with Development, Operations, and other technical teams on new and existing CICS/TS project implementations
• Maintain CICS/TS system options for optimum performance and availability
• Assist with the development and maintenance of CICS/TS standards and roadmaps
• Ability to provide global on-call support
• Work with internal and external clients in implementing CICS/TS solutions
• Supporting and participating in Disaster Recovery exercises
• Providing dump analysis and problem determination of root causes related to system problems and outages including storage violations
• Working with computer operations to quickly resolve incidents and automate operational processes such as IPLs, Cold Starts, and dump processing
• Ensuring High Availability and performance objectives, as required by customers and management are maintained for operating systems and for software components
• Administration using IBM and Independent Software Vendor products
• Experience with CICSPlex System Manager (CPSM) is a plus
• Previous experience with Vision Plus or IBM MQ is desirable
Minimum Requirements:
• At least 10 years hands-on experience supporting CICS/TS in large IBM z/OS Mainframe environment
• In depth working knowledge of IBM Assembler and REXX required
• Experience with mainframe software installation, maintenance and support
• Four-year college degree in Computer Science/Management or equivalent educational/work experience
