What is Accountant – Global Accounts Receivable responsible for?
  • The individual is responsible for maintaining the fee calculation process within the accounting system for the assigned functional area. This includes maintaining existing fee calculations, interpreting, understanding, creating, and posting new fee calculations, as well as reversing, closing down fees and processing customer fee refunds where applicable. In addition, the individual must have the knowledge to manually calculate fees based on client agreements. The individual will participate in the onboarding of new accounts with other key departments, designed to ensure the smooth setting up of new accounts.  Other responsibilities may include preparation of fee reports as well as assisting in fee review and control processes. As a member of the fee group, the successful candidate will also have opportunities to participate in assignments and special projects within the group as required.


What are the ongoing responsibilities of an Accountant – Global Accounts Receivable?
  • Adherence to daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly SLAs


  • Opening & closing fee terms in the Trust Accounting System


  • Manually calculating initial & final fees


  • Maintaining fee terms within Excel/Fee Systems


  • Manual calculation of fees outside of Trust Accounting System


  • Creating invoices within Billing system


  • Support Administrators/Investment Officers on fee inquiries


  • Monitoring daily bank statements and applying payments


  • Processing customer fee refunds


  • Fund Reimbursement Payment application


  • Liaising with front office and other departments


  • Tracking, monitoring, and responding to emails in a timely manner


New Account Set Up & Implementation:


  • Representing the department on project teams established for implementing new accounts


  • Understanding the purpose and nature of the new account, and the responsibilities of each party


  • Reviewing and commenting on Investment Management Agreements and other governing documentation


  • Documenting and maintaining permanent file information for the department


  • Agreeing on and documenting procedure for fee calculation and billings with client


  • Track and apply fee rate adjustments to existing accounts.


Other Responsibilities:


  • Assist in creation of aged receivables, fee reports and fee review/controls processes


  • Assist in various projects as needed.


  • Timely and effective communication with the other team members and managers, including status update for the assigned work


  • Consolidating supporting document for audit


  • Create and upload manual journal entries where necessary


  • Support month end process


  • Perform monthly/quarterly analysis on fee variance 


  • Support in payment dispute resolution


What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful?
  • This position requires a bachelor’s/Master’s degree in accounting or business with coursework in intermediate and advanced accounting


  • At least three years of financial accounting experience preferably within multi-national organization, in similar department.


  • Attention to details.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Strong written / verbal communication skills.


  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain on-going working relationships with various individuals both within and outside FT Finance.


  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to coordinate performance of certain tasks with other teams with supervision.


  • Ability to maintain updated knowledge of procedures, products, and activities assigned.


  • Experience with automated financial systems including a general ledger.


  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including spreadsheet upload, pivot tables and related functions


Skills and Abilities: 


  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook is mandatory.


  • Logical thinking and ability to understand and solve basic mathematical problems.


  • Ability to quickly pick up on internal systems.


  • Good Organizational skills excellent verbal and written communications skills.


Job Level - Individual Contributor
Work Shift Timing – 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST
