Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled Accountant (Assistant Manager-Business Resource) to join our ACM Hosur Business Resources - Global Finance Services Division.


Caterpillar’s Drive Train Systems – BCP seeks an Assistant Manager-Business Resource (internally known as Accountant) at our Hosur location. In this position, will have the opportunity to develop essential business information and analysis as well as provide counsel to management for all business planning, management reporting, compliance, product costing, decision support, and product sourcing strategies. Reporting directly to the incumbent are various levels of management accountants and salaried support positions.


The preference for this role is to be based out of Hosur-BCP, India


  What you will do


Job Roles and Responsibilities


Performing Complex Staff Work :


  • Provides technical guidance and expertise on highly complex accounting issues such as preparing financial results analysis for top level management, providing forecast data, etc.
  • Leads initiatives outside team to represent the group (e.g. documenting processes, making presentations).
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar’s businesses, products, suppliers, and customers.

Managing Expectations:


  • Communicates effectively within the team and with internal and external customers and data providers.
  • Understands and manages customer requirements and expectations.
  • Serves as liaison between customer, team, and data providers.
  • identifies and communicates goals and objectives of team.
  • Provides services, makes recommendations, and manages costs.
  • Works with selected financial systems, interpreting and adhering to Caterpillar’s general accounting practices and procedures, and collaborate with salaried and management personnel who perform accounting functions of varying complexity.
  • Colloborate with operations team for projects and support the daily operating environment.
  • Provides technical guidance and expertise to operations.
  • Collaborate with team members towards individual and team goals and objectives and fosters an environment of teamwork and cooperation.

What you will have 


  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or cost accountant, with minimum 8 years post qualification work experience
  • Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Relevant work experience with good clarity on Manufacturing & Supply Chain processes and their impact on costing studies and operating results
  • Work experience and application knowledge in enabling the digital capabilities and demonstrate SMART work capabilities. Good understanding of computer systems especially in MS-Office and Financial Analytics Tool (Power BI, Tableau, Power Apps. etc.). 
  • Good accounting background, thorough knowledge of accounting flow and related methods of recording in the General Ledger and knowledge in SAP environment (FI, MM & CO Module).
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership, initiative, inter-personal skills, and ability to communicate effectively.
