Ab Initio Developer
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ab Initio Developer with 7-10 years of experience in data warehousing and data migration projects. The ideal candidate should possess robust experience in the Banking and Financial Services (BFS) domain and the insurance industry to facilitate the design and development of data processes using the Ab Initio ETL tool.
Overall Responsibilities
- Design and develop data warehouse processes, including data sourcing, loading, transformation, and extraction using Ab Initio.
- Participate in all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the implementation of ETL processes.
- Create detailed plans, test files, and scripts for data warehouse testing, encompassing unit, integration, and system testing.
- Review designs, code, test plans, and documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the migration, implementation, and maintenance of various applications and data processes.
Software Requirements
- ETL Tool: Ab Initio (GDE versions 1.15, 3.1, and V4-0-2-1, cooperating systems 2.15, 3.1, and V4-0-3-0)
- Database Technologies: Oracle, Teradata
- Data Modeling: Experience in designing data warehouse process models
- Testing Tools: Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools for verifying data integrity and process performance

Day-to-day Activities
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and define requirements for data processing.
- Design, develop, and implement complex ETL workflows and process flows to support data integration and migration projects.
- Conduct data quality testing and validation through unit, integration, and system testing to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Review and optimize existing ETL processes to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Document technical specifications, designs, and implementation procedures for future reference and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in data warehousing or ETL tools are a plus.
Soft Skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
