Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews and comments on design documentation and oversees installations, testing and commissioning systems for water preparation, water make-up, and water (wastewater) treatment to comply with technical requirements and applicable codes and standards.
- Reviews and/or performs design of water preparation, water make-up and water (wastewater) treatment systems, including Ion Desalination Systems, Ion-Exchange Filters, Coagulation/Flocculation Systems, Ultrafiltration Systems, De-oiling systems, Hydrocyclones, etc.
- Reviews and/or prepares analyses on technical solutions for systems for water preparation, water make-up, and water treatment
- Reviews and analyses water quality control reports for compliance with codes and standards and/or applicable procedures and suggests corrective measures
- Reviews and analyses equipment testing and operational and maintenance documents related to water preparation, water make-up, and water treatment systems
- Participates in safety, environmental and hazard assessments.
- Assists in ensuring that no technical changes are implemented without prior approval as per EPC contract procedure and regulatory requirements.
- Reports on project performance against the baseline plan.
- Develops training material and conducts training and coaching on water preparation, water make-up, and water (wastewater) treatment
- Represents Worley at internal & external meetings on the project.
- Reviews, comments and prepares drafts of Customer's correspondence.
What you will bringExperience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required (Master's degree preferred).
- Educational focus on water chemistry is a plus.
- Strong technical skills; 8+ years of experience in water chemistry engineering on large scale projects or in nuclear power plant development.
- Nuclear power industry related experience is required.
- Familiar with Environmental codes for water discharge and sanitary norms for drinking water.
- Knowledge of waste (liquid and solids) management is a plus.
- Previous experience in design or operation of water preparation and/or water treatment installations is a must.
- Sound engineering background.
