Job Description:

You as a Technical Project Manager will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Cairo, Egypt.  We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee the Project Management and Engineering functions for our Grid Automation Projects in Egypt. In this role, you will ensure the efficient and cost-effective execution of Project Management, Engineering, Testing, and Commissioning activities, aligning with customer expectations, contract specifications, Hitachi Energy policies, quality standards, and safety requirements and your leadership will be pivotal in driving excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities          

• Providing Engineering and Technical Support to site and design engineers for 60-70% of your time.
• Engaging in Project Management activities for 30-40% of your time.
• Reviewing customer specification and generating Base Design Documents such as, the main Equipment List, Functional Descriptions, IO signal list, SAS Overview Diagram.
• Providing technical coordination and expertise throughout the entire project cycle.
• Acting as the primary local contact for customer contracts.
• Attending technical review meetings and driving progress.
• Managing the project budget, schedule, and scope, and reporting any deviations as they rise.
• Visiting project sites to supervise the progress and address issues as needed.
• Collaborating closely with the order handling and logistics teams.
• Planning, controlling, and reporting project activities using internal ERP tools.

Your background             

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with hands-on experience in SAS and RTU systems is required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in project lead engineering or site commissioning of SAS/RTU systems.
• Solid understanding of contractual aspects and legal terms.
• Analytical and strategic thinker, capable of seeing the broader perspective.
• Excellent collaborative and communication skills.
• Proficient in Communication Protocols and Network Topology, including IEC61850, IEC-101, IEC-104, IEC-103, DNP3, and Modbus. Familiarity with Protection and Control systems is advantageous.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
