Technical Director

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced technical director to oversee and direct all technical operations across the company's divisions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for aligning technical strategies with business objectives, leading engineering and maintenance initiatives, ensuring quality assurance, and driving continuous improvement. This role requires strong expertise in technical management, project execution, procurement, and sustainability practices to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Management:

• Oversee and direct technical operations across all divisions, ensuring alignment with the company's strategy and objectives.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration between the central technical team and dotted-line technical managers across the organization.
• Lead the development and execution of technical strategies, ensuring innovation and continuous improvement in technical processes.

Project Management:

• Direct the planning, execution, and monitoring of all technical projects to ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
• Develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, and ensure all technical teams meet established deadlines.
• Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies for successful outcomes.

Technical Quality Assurance (QA):

• Establish and enforce quality assurance frameworks to ensure technical operations meet industry standards and regulatory compliance.
• Implement technical quality standards and ensure strict adherence across all functions.
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• With Operations: Align technical strategies with production processes to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• With Supply Chain: Collaborate with warehouses to optimize storage, handling, and movement of technical materials and spare parts,Work with planning teams to align production schedules with technical capacity.
• With Sales & Marketing: Support new product launches by ensuring technical readiness and compliance with quality standards.
• With IT: Implement automation and digital tools to enhance technical operations and inventory tracking.

Control & Procurement of Machines and Spare Parts:

• Oversee the procurement of machines, spare parts, and technical equipment, ensuring cost effectiveness and operational readiness.
• Implement robust inventory control measures to minimize downtime risks due to resource shortages.
• Ensure procurement transparency, accurate reporting, and proper analysis of technical assets.

Continuous Improvement Programs:

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technical performance, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Utilize key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Drive technical innovation through best practices, process enhancements, and new technology adoption.

Technical R&D Support:

• Work closely with the R&D team to integrate technical insights into new product development and process innovations.
• Ensure technical feasibility and compliance with industry regulations and quality benchmarks.
• Provide expert guidance on the development and integration of new technologies into business operations.

Sustainability and Environmental Management:

• Lead sustainability initiatives to optimize resource utilization, including energy, water, and material efficiency.
• Develop and implement waste reduction and recycling strategies to minimize environmental impact.
• Identify and integrate eco-friendly technologies to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Data reporting and analysis:

• Develop comprehensive technical reporting systems to track project progress, quality assurance, procurement, and improvement efforts.
• Provide executive leadership with actionable insights through regular performance reports.
• Ensure all technical data is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for decision-making.
