Overview The Global Trade and Compliance Specialist is a subject matter expert in global trade and compliance topics. The role will be responsible for assuring the correct operation of all import/export moves across the globe avoiding government fines and impacts to the business and goods being moved across markets. Assure business continuity for new and contingency based commercialization projects considering all compliance related risks and requirements needed to get the initiative up and running. Support the legal representatitve with Power of Attorneys for different entities across sectors in order to sign required documentation and attend needed government audits. Help manage special programs such as Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), IMMEX, free trade zones and make sure that the program keeps their validities year after year. The role will coordinate the agenda on classification of goods, confirming the correct HS Tariff Codes are being used, as well as confirming if there are any Free Trade Zone benefits for those specific products and origins resulting in cost avoidande from import duties. The role will coordinate and operate scheduled audits of the different sectors highlighting possible opportunities in the operations and avoiding possible government fines and/or service disruptions. Responsibilities Create baseline of free trade agreements, special programs, free trade zones and special duty regimes that are currently being used Create a baseline of existing incoterms being used and create incoterm based strategies for operational benefits and possiblee productivity working alongside the ocean procurement team Analyze new duty optimization opportunities that leverage the team’s productivity targets such as free trade agreements or special import/export programs Support the team’s automation initiatives in collaboration with the global excellence and continuous improvement teams Support team in delivering baseline of existing incoterms, free trade agreements, special import export programmes, free trade zones and import export duty regimes. Support yearly strategies for the customs and trade team including operational forecasting, planning and working together with the ocean procurement manager for volume forecasting and planning. Support standardization, continuous improvement, and knowledge management to unlock overall I/E and Customs & Trade optimization and decision making across sectors Support automation initiatives that result in productivity and time for the team Build and strengthen relationships across sectors to assure smooth import export operation of goods Leverage and replicate good practices across sectors Create and control SOP’s for the various C&T Sectors insuring service levels across sectors for internal customers Contribute to a 4% YOY productivity from Import-Export (Customs, Duties, Assessorial charges) through cost transformation delivering ~$65 MM to PEP 2023-2025 and develop detailed plans for additional years 2026+ . Analyze all import/export operations across globe in order to identify possible C&T optimization opportunities and related compliance impacts seeking to reduce risks, compliance issues, and governmental audits. Establish Global communities of practice for I/E improving sector collaboration with Global team and with each other and sharing best practices Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in International Trade, Business, Supply Chain 08-10 years leading teams related to customs & trade and/or compliance Ability to positively influence teams outside of direct responsibility and across multiple business units Capable of working in a remote work group and being managed by a remote manager Utilize technical/functional knowledge that creates opportunities and solves business problems Ability to drive large transformational change agenda to include people, process, technology transformation Ability to identify business issues and develop a business case / charter for action Self-starter with attention to detail and experience leading multiple teams Ability to work collaboratively and proactively across multi-functional, sector, and business teams Excellent written and oral communication skills; proactively communicates using appropriate methods for situation and audience in clear, concise and professional manner English Fluency both written and verbal required; Exceptional communication skills across global businesses (additional languages a plus) Strong track record to manage multiple competing cross-functional priorities Experience in being part of and supporting large, complex best practices or projects Experience with IT platforms and tools including design, configuration, development and implementation Experience working with cross-functional competencies, people, and teams Strong track record of developing capabilities Strong track record in formulating innovative solutions and driving change Ability to navigate through ambiguity and adapt quickly to a changing environment Strong team player passionate about collaborating, coordinating, and committed to teamwork in all situations Advanced excel and other Microsoft tools (Powerapps, PowerBI/Tableau)
