We’re looking for a Software Architect to join our Brightly team in, Cairo, Egypt.


What you’ll be doing:
  • Own design and building of innovative and performant architecture into our next-generation software applications and platform.
  • Coordinate and direct project execution, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Inspire and guide engineers to integrate & document libraries and frameworks that allow us to effectively scale development on our applications across multiple projects as common services or components, leveraged by multiple products, within scope, cost, time & quality constraints.
  • Lead prioritizing and estimating project efforts.
  • Build and track quality into agile product lifecycle encompassing requirements, design, code, testing, delivery, support.
  • Guide and mentor engineers on clear maintainable solutions that scale, adhere/improve/augment existing standards, working in a professional software engineering environment (source control, shortened release cycles, continuous integration, and deployment, etc.).
  • Advise product owners and UX on what’s feasible technically, a partner in user requirements translation to technical specifications. Participate in product planning sessions as a technical SME.
  • Partner in build vs buy vs partner decisions, cloud strategy, and technology roadmaps.
  • Serve as a technical leader for your team as needed or special purpose projects per business priority. Identify & own coaching opportunities.
  • Stay current with learning current trends in technology and mentor and guide junior engineers and interns.
  • Work with other architects, senior engineering, and product management to measure, track and iterate continuous improvement processes across engineering discipline, impacting success across the agile delivery organization globally.
  • Driver in continuous improvement processes through metrics and feedback.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
  • Strong communication, partnership, teamwork, and influencing skills are required.
  • Extensive relevant experience in the software industry
  • Ability to communicate with and present to engineers, senior management & relevant stakeholders.
  • Experience with domain driven design.
  • Exposure to building enterprise and cloud solutions such as in AWS.
  • Expertise in managing product security, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Solid understanding of RDBMS such as MS SQL, designing performant tables.
  • Ability to design modular, testable code supporting a fully automated testing pyramid.
  • Mastery of OOP and design patterns, demonstrated through implementing a well-structured back end, such as in .NET Core.
  • Experience with REST services, SOA, micro-services.
  • Experience with web development and UI/UX technologies using modern frameworks such as Angular.
  • DevOps mindset – proven experience in a mature CI/CD SDLC environment, implemented exception handling, logging, monitoring, performance measurement, operational metrics knowledge.
  • Proven experience working in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Led teams in a global delivery, agile, CI/CD, metrics-based setting.
  • Able to work on a flexible schedule to co-ordinate with teams in North America.
