Senior Operating Systems Admin
Job Description
Proficient in managing Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems in enterprise environments. Experience with system virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python for automation and task orchestration. Familiar with system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, Splunk) to ensure optimal system performance and availability. In-depth understanding of TCP/IP networking and storage technologies. Knowledge of security protocols and practices for protecting systems and data. Ability to perform system audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (preferred). Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management tools. RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or equivalent certifications.
Personal Skills
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to quickly diagnose and resolve system-related issues. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Technical Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in operating system administration, particularly in managing enterprise environments.
• Certifications in RHCE, MCSE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or equivalent. Experience with containerization and ITIL processes is a plus.
