Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead and support the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare necessary journal entries and ensure that all accounts are reconciled and closed.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) for internal and external reporting. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal company policies.
Account Reconciliation: Oversee the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies. Ensure that all accounts are accurately reconciled on a monthly basis and follow up on any outstanding items.
Variance Analysis: Analyze financial results to identify and explain variances between actual and budgeted figures. Provide financial insights and support decision-making by senior management through detailed reports.
Audit Support: Prepare and provide necessary documentation for internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with audit requirements and assist auditors with queries related to general ledger and financial reporting.
Reporting and Analysis: Generate and present financial reports to management and other stakeholders. Provide clear, actionable insights on financial performance, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting processes and implement improvements to streamline operations. Recommend changes to internal controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Compliance and Controls: Ensure that the company adheres to internal financial controls, accounting procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements. Perform regular checks to ensure adherence to tax, legal, and company policies.
Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation of tax-related financial statements and ensure proper accounting treatment for tax provisions.
Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and support junior accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting techniques.
