Senior Equipment Operator

To operate all types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) safely and efficiently as per training received and operational requirements while ensuring adherence to company policies, airline standards, and regulatory guidelines. The role also involves providing mentorship or on the job training to junior operators and assisting in keeping equipment readiness for handling as required.

• Operate all types of motorised GSE, including pushback tractors, Passenger bus, passenger stairs, Hi-loaders, GPUs, ACUs, water and lavatory trucks, tugs, conveyor belts, and all other specialized equipment as per operational requirements.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of GSE to ensure proper functionality and report defects or maintenance needs promptly.
• Ensure compliance with operational safety guidelines and procedures during equipment operation to prevent incidents or damage to aircraft, personnel, and property.
• Safely position and operate equipment to support aircraft arrival, turnaround, and departure, including tasks such as pushback, baggage/cargo loading and unloading, and aircraft servicing.
• Accurately record and report service times, equipment usage, and any operational issues in line with company procedures.
• Assist in coordinating equipment availability and utilization during peak operations to minimize delays and support on-time performance targets.
• Provide guidance and support to junior equipment operators, ensuring they follow standard operating procedures and maintain high safety standards.
• Ensuring that all equipment is returned to designated areas after use.
• Stay updated on operational procedures, airline-specific requirements, and regulatory changes relevant to GSE operations.
• Report any observed safety or security concerns to the Team leader or Airside operations manager immediately.

• Assist in emergency response situations involving GSE, ensuring readiness to perform assigned duties promptly and efficiently.
• Participate in periodic training and assessments to maintain proficiency and certification for operating various types of GSE.
• Follow personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and ensure compliance with company uniform and grooming standards.

• Identifying and reporting all occurrences, hazards, operational irregularities, unsafe conditions or practices in a timely manner and be familiar with company SMS policies and responsibilities.

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent or a minimum 
• Certification in equipment operation or related field is an advantage.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions
• Valid Country driving licenses for operating vehicles.

• 1 year of experience operating ground support equipment, including aircraft pushback (conventional and towbar-less).
