THE POSITION We are hiring a Senior Accountant for Boehringer Ingelheim in Egypt. The position is based in Cairo, Egypt and reports to the Accounting Manager NEW Africa (North East and West Africa).
As Senior Accountant, you work closely with the Accounting Manager & the Head of F&A. In this role, you analyze and provide decision figures/information to the finance team. It is an excellent position within our organization to get a deep understanding of businesses, finance, processes, systems and people while contributing to further growth of Boehringer Ingelheim. Tasks & responsibilities
Communicate/Manage timelines for end year closing as set by the corporate & Internal timelines.
Ensure proper allocation of cost for WBS & CC on monthly bases, preparing monthly actual reports vs BUD/OL to the respective departments.
Prompt and accurate submission of all local tax & Social insurance requirements.
Prompt and accurate submission of the monthly, yearly and periodic reporting of company and business data.
Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Hands on ownership of the closure activities in accordance with the corporate policies and guidelines in the relevant systems
Extraction of data from various sources (SAP, Qlikview, AFO, internal systems etc), evaluation and analysis of the data.
Ensuring proper communication of all relevant data to the relevant stakeholders in the country.
Participating review meetings with finance team by generating relevant overviews, analysis and business support.
Ensuring timely submission of data in the appropriate systems.
Key user and contributor for GBS operations locally.
Support in SOPs creation if needed.
Communicating & educating the new vendors with our requirements & policies to avoid delay in payments or rejection.
Prepare the bank payments format for the social insurance, taxes and utilities monthly payments.
Monitor the IVT system, tracking expenses, monitoring pass through cost, following up for late payments with stakeholders and vendors if needed.
Revise payments for vendors & ensure payment is done according to payment terms.
Support with administrative duties.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting
4-5 years of Accounting, Finance and Business Controlling experience incl. systems, processes and guidelines required, specifically for Egypt. Audit background (assurance, tax, corporate finance) is a plus.
Multi-national Pharma and Audit/Accounting background/experience would be preferred.
Knowledge of IFRS
Experience in SAP and project management
