SAP ABAP Consultant (Junior / Senior) | Retail

As a SAP ABAP Consultant, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining custom ABAP programs, reports, and enhancements across various SAP modules. You will work closely with functional consultants, business teams, and technical teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performance-optimized solutions in the SAP environment.

• Design, develop, and optimize custom ABAP programs, reports, enhancements, and interfaces within SAP.
• Implement custom solutions based on business requirements and collaborate with functional teams to understand the needs of business processes.
• Ensure the seamless integration of SAP with other systems, including third-party applications, POS systems, and eCommerce platforms.
• Work with middleware tools such as SAP PI/PO or SAP CPI to enable smooth data exchange between SAP and external systems.
• Review and optimize ABAP code to enhance performance and scalability, particularly for large datasets and high-volume transaction processing.
• Work closely with functional consultants (SD, MM, FICO, etc.) to understand business requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Participate in design sessions and help align the development of custom solutions with business objectives.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation for all custom developments, reports, and enhancements.
• Share knowledge and best practices within the team and contribute to process improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience with end-to-end ABAP development, including reports, interfaces, user exits, enhancements, and forms.
• Strong proficiency in SAP ABAP development, including classic ABAP, ALV reporting, enhancements, BADIs, and user exits.
• Expertise in SAP Fiori, UI5, and SAP S/4HANA for modern user interface design is an advantage.
• Knowledge of SAP PI/PO, CPI, or other middleware tools for system integration.
• Strong experience with ABAP performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: SAP certification in ABAP or S/4HANA is a plus.
• Experience with Cloud Platforms: Exposure to SAP Cloud Platform or integration with cloud-based applications.
• Retail Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with retail-specific SAP modules (SAP SD, MM, FICO) and business processes is a plus.
