Join our Smart Infrastructure GSW division as Telecommunication Engineer Intern and help us re-imagine the world by finding solutions and making the world a more inquisitive place for tomorrow.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Renewable Energy team. As a Grid Interconnection Study Intern, you will play a key role in supporting projects related to the integration of renewable energy sources (such as wind, solar, and battery storage) into the power grid. This internship offers hands-on experience in grid interconnection studies, power systems analysis, and renewable energy deployment strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Analysis & Modeling
  • Assist in modeling renewable energy systems for grid interconnection studies using industry-standard software (e.g., PSS/E, PowerWorld, DIgSILENT, or similar).
  • Analyze grid capacity, stability, and reliability in relation to renewable energy integration.
  • Conduct load flow, short-circuit, and transient stability studies.
• Interconnection Processes
  • Support research on interconnection standards, processes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FERC, NERC, or local standards).
  • Evaluate technical feasibility and prepare reports for interconnection proposals.
• Collaboration & Reporting
  • Work closely with engineering teams, project developers, and grid operators to address interconnection challenges.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, presentations, and summaries of study findings.
• Research and Development
  • Explore innovative solutions for improving grid flexibility and integrating distributed energy resources (DERs).
  • Stay updated on advancements in renewable energy technologies and grid management strategies.

Qualifications

• Educational Background:
  • Fresh graduate who holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with power system analysis tools (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD).
  • Basic understanding of renewable energy technologies and grid interconnection concepts.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
