Child SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting the country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLEPURPOSE:
This position will be responsible for supporting SCI’s livelihoods activities for refugees and host community members. The position is responsible for the coaching and mentorship of the livelihood beneficiaries. The position deliver capacity building packages and maintains a follow-up and coaching process with the livelihood beneficiary to ensure their understanding of the training material and their ability to develop their skills either to start a micro-business or to maintain a job.
Projects Scope:
The RDPP project is a comprehensive initiative aimed at supporting Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) in Greater Cairo, Egypt. The project focuses on two main pathways: enhancing protection and inclusion for UASC through child protection services, education, and mental health support, and increasing their resilience and self-relianceby providing vocational training and livelihood opportunities. Key activities include providing comprehensive child protection case management services, such emergency cash transfers, referrals, and ongoing support for 900 UASC, Additionally, the project will deliver mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) to 500 UASC and their caregivers. The project also focuses on enhancing resilience and self-reliance through vocational skills trainings for 300 youth aged 17-21, including conditional cash transfers for six months to support their transition into adulthood. The initiative also includes establishing a mentorship and coaching network, providing individualized support to at least 250 youth in their journey toward employment or entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the project will organize advocacy efforts to promote the socio-economic inclusion of refugees and vulnerable migrants within the local community. These activities aim to equip UASC with the skills, resources, and support needed to successfully transition into adulthood and contribute to their communities.
Livelihoods Cycle includes:
a) Identification through vulnerability and Viability assessment.
b) Capacity building package including Life skills for Success, Livelihood Capacity building based on the chosen track (Self-employment: business training or Wage-employment: Job hunting training or freelancing track: client acquisition)
c) Vocational or Technical training based on the need for the chosen livelihoods track
d) Matching livelihoods opportunities (Seed fund to start a business or toolkit to freelance, match with employer and/or apprenticeship for wage-employment.
e) Coaching and follow-up and market linkage to support sustainability.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project Implementation:
• Conduct one-to-one assessments with livelihood candidates and check their eligibility to the criteria.
• Participate in training delivery for life skills, essential work skills, and business skills.
• Follow-up and coach livelihoods beneficiaries while receiving vocational and/or technical training from other contracted service providers.
• Support livelihoods caseload (20-25 beneficiary) per cohort to be successfully matched with livelihoods opportunity (self-employed or wage employed)
• Conduct business groups and individual coaching sessions for the self-employed livelihood’s participants during the project implementation.
• Follow up with the employed beneficiaries and provide them with career counseling advice.
• Keep an updated database of the participants’ information and their received services.
In case of Emergency:
• Promote children's rights, contributing to their well-being and protection in times of emergencies, guided by humanitarian principles and code of conduct.
• During emergencies, he/she should act in a way that facilitates SCI’s response to emergencies, giving priority to all assigned.
• Be prepared to support SCI interventions in response to emergencies and show needed flexibility .
General:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in development-related fields / Related academic qualification.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in development.
• Livelihoods, career guidance, coaching experience is preferred
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• Good Communication skills.
• At least 1 year experience in mentoring and coaching activities
• Experience in working with refugees and migrant communities.
• Good Community networks.
• reading and writing English is a must.
• Demonstrated ability to work with highly vulnerable groups.
• Awareness of the security context and political situation in Egypt for refugees.
• Able to work effectively within a team and/or individually.
• This is a field job; the candidate must be willing to work in the field effectively.
